Volunteer tax services

You will receive training to provide free tax help for low-to-moderate income families who need assistance preparing their tax. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. In fact, any volunteer of a §5(c) (3) tax-exempt organization is entitled to receive deductible charitable contributions. Although no tax deduction is allowed for the value of the services performed for this type of organization, some deductions are permitted for out-of-pocket costs incurred while volunteering.


However, in order to take those tax deductions , volunteers must itemize their deductions when filing their annual tax return. This means that the standard deduction does not allow volunteers to enjoy a tax break for their money spent.
